PPG appoints Thiele treasurer; Genuine Parts says Yancey next CFO

JPMorgan Chase, the $110 billion financial services firm, announced Marianne Lake will succeed Doug Braunstein as CFO. Braunstein will become vice chairman of the bank. Lake, 43, is currently CFO of consumer and community banking business for the New York-based company. She served as global controller from 2007 to 2009, worked in the bank’s corporate finance group from 2004 to 2007 and earlier served as the senior finance officer for the U.K. Lake started her career working at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Sydney.

Eric Thiele, treasurer, PPGPPG Industries, a coatings and specialty products company with $14.9 billion in 2011 revenue, named Eric Thiele treasurer. He succeeds Aziz Giga, who is retiring in March. Since joining Pittsburgh-based PPG in 1995, Thiele, pictured at right, has worked in finance, including a stint as CFO and director of finance for PPG Asia Pacific.

Genuine Parts Co., a $12.5 billion distributor of automotive replacement parts in Atlanta, appointed Carol Yancey executive vice president of finance and corporate secretary and said she will become  CFO in March. She succeeds Jerry Nix, who is retiring next year. Yancey most recently served as the company’s senior vice president of finance and corporate secretary. She joined Genuine Parts in 1991 after working at Ernst & Young.

Caesars Entertainment, the $8.8 billion casino chain, appointed Donald Colvin CFO and executive vice president.  He most recently served as CFO and executive vice president at ON Semiconductor Corp. Colvin, 59, succeeds Jonathan Halkyard, who left Las Vegas-based Caesars in May to join NV Energy as its CFO. Earlier, Colvin was CFO at Atmel Corp. and European Silicon Structures and worked in finance at Motorola.

PMC-Sierra, a $654 million technology solutions company in Sunnyvale, Calif., named Steven Geiser CFO and vice president. He succeeds Mike Zellner, who is resigning to pursue other interests. Geiser most recently served as CFO at Trilliant Networks. Earlier, as CFO at RMI, he played a key role in selling the company to Netlogic Microsystems, and worked in finance at AMD.
