Andrew Swiger, a senior vice president at oil giant Exxon Mobil, will succeed Donald Humphreys as the company’s principal financial officer on Jan. 1, according to an 8-K filing. Exxon Mobil announced last week that Humphreys will retire in February after 36 years with the company.
Swiger, 56, has been a senior vice president and member of the management committee at Exxon Mobil since 2009.
He joined Exxon Mobil in 1989 as an operations engineer and moved to the downstream business in 1996, serving as general manager for a refinery and petrochemical plant in Singapore. He was named vice president for Africa in 2001 and vice president for Europe and Russia/Caspian for ExxonMobil Production Co. in 2003. Swiger became executive vice president of ExxonMobil Production Co. in 2004 and was named president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Co. in 2006.
