CME Group Computers Hacked

"Certain customer information" stolen from ClearPort platform, but CME Group says there's no evidence trades were affected.

CME Group Inc., operator of the world’s largest futures market, said its computer systems were hacked in July and “certain customer information” for its ClearPort platform was stolen.

The owner of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange said there’s no evidence that trades on its CME Globex platform were adversely affected, or that its clearing services were disrupted, according to a statement today. CME Group said the incident is being investigated by the U.S. government.

CME ClearPort provides clearing services for over-the-counter products.
