MetLife, the New York City-based provider ofinsurance, annuities and benefit programs with $70 billion in 2011revenue, appointed Edward Spehar head of investorrelations. He replaces John McCallion, who is becoming CFO forMetLife's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Spehar, 47,previously was a sell-side equity research analyst coveringpublicly traded insurers at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for 19years. Earlier, he held similar positions at Lehman Brothers andAmeritrust.

Juan Figuereo of NII HoldingsNII Holdings, the$6.7 billion provider of mobile communications services in LatinAmerica, named Juan Figuereo CFO and executivevice president. He succeeds Gokul Hemmady, who wasnamed COO of the Reston, Va.-based company. Figuereo, 54, picturedat right, previously was CFO and executive vice president atNewell Rubbermaid. Earlier, he served as CFO at Cott Corp. and vicepresident of mergers and acquisitions at Wal-Mart International.Figuereo also spent 15 years in finance and management positions atPepsiCo.

U.S. Silica Holdings, a $295 million producerof commercial silica that is based in Frederick, Md., appointedDonald Merril CFO and vice president of finance.He succeeds William White, who will retire.Merril, 48, was CFO and senior vice president at Myers Industriesfrom 2006 to 2012 and earlier served as CFO and vice president forthe Rubbermaid home products division at Newell Rubbermaid.

Enphase Energy, a $149 million provider ofmicroinverter systems for solar systems, named KrisSennesael CFO. He succeeds Sanjeev Kumar,who left the Petaluma, Calif.-based company to pursue otherinterests. Sennesael, 43, recently served as CFO at StandardMicrosystems. Earlier, he was CFO at Alcatel and AlcatelMicroelectronic and vice president of finance at ON Semiconductorand AMI Semiconductor.

Appliance Recycling Centers of America, a $126million provider of environmentally friendly appliance recyclingprograms for utility companies, promoted JefferyCammerrer to CFO. He succeeds PeterHausback, who left the Minneapolis-based company lastyear. Cammerrer, 42, has been Appliance Recycling Center's vicepresident of accounting and finance since March, after serving asits corporate controller since 2008. Prior to ARCA, Cammerrer wasdirector of finance at Milestone AV Technologies and worked inaccounting management at Eschelon Telecom.

Peter Rendall of KVH IndustriesKVH Industries, a$112 million provider of global satellite communications andguidance and stabilization solutions in Middletown, R.I., namedPeter Rendall CFO. He replaces PatrickSpratt, who is retiring, but will remain with the companyas a consultant. Rendall, 47, pictured at left, previously was CFOat JobSmart Partners and CFO and CEO at Top Layer Security.Earlier, he was CFO at Elcom International and vice president offinance and operations at Logica. He started his career atPricewaterhouseCoopers.

Allied Motion Technologies, a $110 millionmanufacturer of motor and servo motion products in Englewood,Calif., appointed Robert Maida CFO. He succeedsRichard Smith, who is retiring. Maida previouslywas director of finance at Avox Systems, a subsidiary of ZodiacAerospace. Earlier he spent 10 years at API Motion/Danaher Motion,a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation, where he progressed to therole of director of finance for its Applied Products Group. BeforeDanaher, he was vice president of finance at Great Lakes Industriesand director of finance at BRC, a division of Bryce Corp.
