Walmart will leverage its marketplace clout to offer healthcare services to self-insured employers. The retail giant announced it is teaming up with Transcarent, a consumer-directed platform for employees of self-insured employers and their families.

This is the first time Walmart has made such an agreement to offer its prices on pharmaceuticals and other healthcare services to employers. The partnership aims to allow employers to offer more convenient care and cost-effective health and wellness options.
