The Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting business has released an iPhone app that allows the company's 60,000 Practice CS users to extend their reach beyond their desktop and access key firm, staff and client data anytime, anywhere. The initial release of on-the-go Practice CS content also includes WIP and AR data, and is available for download from the Apple iTunes App store free of charge.
XBRL US Labs, the research and development arm of XBRL US, the national consortium for XML business reporting standards, also released its first XBRL iPhone app, called Brix, available from the iTunes App store. Brix delivers data from, and about, financial statements as soon as they are filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. IPhone users can view, search and sort XBRL reports and tags and can receive an alert when a specific company has filed a report.
Rivet Software, a provider of standards-based business reporting and analytics, has upgraded its Dragon View software that allows users to view and review XBRL documents, including 10-Q and 10-K filings and risk/return summary filings submitted to the SEC.
Pension Benefit Information, a provider of participant research services, has rolled out its Platinum Web-Based Death Audit Service that allows plan sponsors and administrators to better track deaths among pension plan participants and prevent overpayment of benefits. The service monitors participant records on a weekly basis and sends out a notification when a new death is identified.

Willis also provides a consulting service to help businesses design their benefits programs to mitigate the costs of the reform measures over the next seven years.
