Cyber criminals are targeting banks and credit unions, accordingto a Federal Bureau of Investigation alert issued earlier thisweek. The cyber crooks use spam or spear-fishing e-mails andkeystroke loggers to steal login credentials from bank employees,then use those credentials to send unauthorized wire transfers.

The wire transfers range from $400,000 to $900,000, the FBIsays. The alert notes a case in which the hacker raised thecustomer's wire transfer limit in order to initiate a largertransfer.
