The ongoing battle over the use of ESG factors when making investment decisions for retirement plans continues.

“Strategic uncertainty,” keeping counterparties in the dark about America’s desired endgame to help secure better deals, is causing problems for everyone trying to map a path forward—from businesses to central banks.

Last week, 26,000 bank employees and retirees reached a settlement with Pentegra over prohibited transactions in their class-action lawsuit, just nine days after a rare jury trial awarded them $38,760,232 over excessive fees.

Following a similar action by GM late last week, Ford’s CEO told analysts, “We should just all expect to be a little bit patient during this time to see how these policies kind of work out.”

“With the level of uncertainty we are seeing and the number of changes happening on an ongoing basis in global tariffs and trade, it’s difficult to predict what policies may impact customers over the course of the year.”
